Saving Lives
Saving Lives Glendale is a faith led mobilizing coalition intended to address underage drinking and drug use to reduce injuries and deaths in the city of Glendale, California. The coalition’s focus has always been on the prevention of substance use in youth. Our overarching vision for achieving this is “A Safe and Healthy Glendale Community”. In order to actualize this vision, our mission is to “reduce alcohol, tobacco and other drug problems among Glendale youth using proven public health and safety strategies that reduce availability”.

At Chabad we realize how frightening, overwhelming or simply lonesome being in the hospital can be, and that’s why we put such emphasis on visiting people in the hospital and bringing them a gift package with goodies, that show them we care. Chabad and its volunteers have visited numerous hospitals and senior homes bringing joy to many patients. Most importantly the patient is given the message that they are not alone.

Food drives are held at various times throughout the year, in addition Chabad offers help to individuals or families that are in need of food. To participate in these drives or to help hungry families please contact our office.

icon_fooddrives.jpgMaking the Holidays So Much Brighter
We visit various community shelters and hospitals where we run Holiday programs consisting of entertainment and arts and crafts. Additionally, children from abused and neglected homes receive a beautiful gift brimming with warmth and love. The Center has also taken the initiative of "adopting" many of these families. The goal of this project is to bring gifts, meals and smiles to needy children and families regardless of their race, color or ethnicity.

Smile On Seniors
Smile On Seniors is a unique volunteer program, created to enhance the lives of local seniors. Many of us have parents or family who are seniors, living alone or in senior facilities, that would greatly benefit from an extra visit from someone who isn’t family. Family can not always visit as often as desired, and not always is there someone else to supplement those visits. And that’s where Smile On Seniors steps in. SOS matches local volunteers with local seniors for a weekly visit, bringing joy and a sense of caring to many. With your help, SOS soon hopes to match a volunteer with every needy senior!
